SUMMERTIME MEMORIES

Hello Again Crafty Friends,
While making this card I was remembering all the fun I had as a child chasing and catching lightning bugs/fireflies. I remember the fun times we had at my step-mom's parent's cabin at the lake. There were always a lot of lighting bugs during the Summer nights. I miss those wonderful times and all the fun we had there. We had lighting bugs where I lived at the time, though not as many. Then when I was 19 when we moved to the country, you could see them light up a field. That is what my children grew up seeing as well. There aren't any in Washington, so my hubby has never seen one in person. That makes me feel sad, though I did find some videos online to show him. To me it's another one of God's wonderful creations.

Okay, I have reminisced enough, lol. So here's my card...

FOR FAMILY FUN

Hello Dear Crafty Friends,
Welcome to the new followers, it means a lot to me!
I want to share two cards with y'all that I made for my sister-in-law and her hubby.
They are always there for my hubby and I whenever we need them. And being they are old enough to be our parents, I just had to make funny cards...besides who doesn't like funny cards, lol. Oh, in case you're wondering, this is my hubby's big sis, actually his only sister. She and her friends like to get together for girls night, so this is the perfect image for her...
This image kinda reminds me of my brother-in-law. Although he is constantly working, even with an illness, he just keeps going and going. I just had make this card for him...
Also, for you Seattle Seahawk Fans - like they both are, I made sure to use the colors.
Go Hawks!

Both of these awesome images are from Bugaboo Stamps...

I hope that you enjoy seeing the cards I made.
Thank you for visiting. :)
Happy Crafty Hugs!

Hello Crafty Friends,

The theme for this challenge is...
Holiday Hoopla

Digistamp '#717 Groundhog' By: Scribbles Designs

Marco Raffine Colored Pencils
Yellow Napiko 2 Marker
The Paper Studio 4.5"x6.5" 'Mirabelle'
Forever In Time 3D Pop Dots
  Brown/Yellow Cardstock Papers
Paper Flower Sticker
Here's what I did...
After making the card with brown paper, I cut the patterned paper to fit in the center of it. I rotated the paper slightly right and taped it to the card. Next I cut a piece of yellow paper to frame behind the image and taped it on. Then taped the image onto the left side of the card. I cut another piece of the yellow paper to frame behind the sentiment and taped it on. Then taped that rotated right on the right side of the card, slightly over the image...I also used pop dots on the right side of it to bring it out farther. Next I added the flower to the card and used a yellow pencil to draw some lines and color over the white petals. Then colored the pearl on top the flower with a yellow marker.

And that's my DT card.
I hope you like it and it will give you some inspiration.

As you can see on the image, my one other color is blue. Which I even used on her face. :)

I made the card with black cardstock paper. I used the frame die to cut out an opening in the font of the card. Then I taped the image on the inside of the front flap. Next I cut white cardstock paper to cover over the whole inside of the card and over the image. Then I glued the corner die cuts on and the flatback pearls.

And that's my GDT card.
I hope you like it and it will give you some inspiration.

LETS CRAFT & CREATE CHALLENGE #126 GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS

Hello There Crafty Friends,
I want to let you all know there is a new challenge starting today over at
LET'S CRAFT AND CREATE
The theme for this challenge is...
Girls, Girls, Girls
There is a great prize to be won too, so come on and join us in the fun!

Here is my inspiration card for the challenge...
Here's my recipe...
The Paper Studio 4.5"x6.5" 'Kirby Teesdale'
DCWV 4.5"x6.5"'The Old World' Mat Stack
Prima Marketing Distressing Tool
Button - from a dear friend
Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon - won gift cert from Jo’s Scrap Shack celebration
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad 'Tea Dye'
Unbranded Design Die
Paper Roses
Bow Making Tool
Cream Cardstock Paper

Here's how I made my card...
After making my card with cream colored paper, I used the distressing tool around the edges, even the fold (carefully on the fold). Then I cut the patterned paper from The Old World mat stack to fit the center of the card and used the design die on the right side of it, then I distressed around it as well. Next I went around the card edges and the patterned paper edges with the distress ink pad. I then cut a piece of the Kirby Teesdale paper to fit behind the design die cut and taped it in place. Then I taped the paper onto the center of the card. Next I cut the beautiful lady and bird image part off another piece of the Kirby Teesdale paper, then used the distressing tool around it and added distress ink. Then taped it onto the left side of the card. Next I made a bow with Pink Wrinkled Ribbon using the wonderful bow maker my hubby made for me and glued it on the right side over the design die cut. Next I curled the stems of three roses and glued them above the bow. Then glued the beautiful button on the top right corner...which I think added the perfect touch. :)

That's my DT card. I hope you like it and it gives you some inspiration.

Happy Crafty Hugs,
Sherry x

We have a new challenge starting today over at
SUNNY DAY CRAFTING

Here is my inspiration card for the challenge...
Here is what I used to make my card...

Unbranded Doily Frame Die
Tattered Lace Dies 'Florentine Flourishes'
Paper Flowers
Flatback Pearls
Purple Cardstock Paper
Ad tech Crafter's Precision Glue 'Fine Line'
Nail Stylus

I made my card with purple paper, then glued the doily frame in the center of it. I fussy cut around the image, then used a nail stylus on the back bottom of the image and on the back of the flowers. I wanted the bottom to round out and the flowers to stand out more. I glued the image onto the doily frame and glued a flatback pearl onto the hanger part of the image. Next I glued some flourishes onto each side of the image, coming from behind it. Then glued some onto the doily frame, wrapping the stems around it and weaving some. I then glued flowers on the flourishes. Next I glued a butterfly onto the left side of the image. Then glued pearls on each side at the bottom of the card.

And that's my DT card.
I hope you like it and it will give you some inspiration.

LOVE TO CRAFT CHALLENGE #11 ANYTHING GOES

Hello Crafty Friends,
There's a new challenge starting today at
Love To Craft Challenge Blog
The theme for this challenge is...
Anything Goes
Here's my inspiration card for this challenge...
Here's my recipe...
The Paper Studio 4.5"x6.5" 'Kirby Teesdale'
Button and Sweet Paris Paper - from a dear friend
Prima Marketing Distressing Tool
Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon - won gift cert from Jo’s Scrap Shack celebration
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad 'Tea Dye'
Unbranded Doily Die and Couple Die
Coffee Stained Gauge and Paper Roses
Bow Making Tool
Cream/Pink Cardstock Paper
Brown Vellum

Here's how I made my card...
After making my card with cream colored paper, I used the distressing tool around all the edges, even the fold (carefully on the fold). Next I cut the patterned paper to fit the center of the card and used the distressing tool around it. Then I went around the card edges and the patterned paper edges with the distress ink pad. Then taped the paper onto the center of the card. After cutting the couple die cut with pink paper and vellum, I glued them together with the vellum up and over to the left some, so that the pink paper will show (almost like a shadow). Then I added some distressed ink around the die cut and glued it onto the left side center of the card. I had already used half of the cream colored doily die cut, so it fit perfectly next to the couple die, after I distressed it slightly and added some distressed ink around the side of it. Next I added some coffee stained gauge around the right side of the doily. Then I cut a piece of the 'Sweet Paris' paper and made a tag with it. Next I went around the tag with the distressing tool and then the distressed ink and taped it slightly rotated left onto the left side of the doily, slightly covering the couple. Then I made a bow with Pink Wrinkled Ribbon using the wonderful bow maker my hubby made for me and glued it on the right side above the tag. Next I curled the stems of three roses and glued them above the bow. Then glued the beautiful button on the top right corner...which I think added the perfect touch. :)

I hope you like my DT card and it gives you some inspiration.
Come on and join us in the fun!

LOVE TO SCRAP CHALLENGE #98 BOYZ RULE!

Hi There Crafty Friends,
I'm wanting to let you know there is a new challenge starting today at...
Love To Scrap Challenge Blog
The theme for this challenge is...
Boyz Rule!
Our sponsors this month are...

Here's my inspiration card using 'Kidz Boy Fishing'...
Here's what I used to make my card...
Digistamp By: Bugaboo Digi Stamps
Marco Raffine Colored Pencils
The Paper Studio 4.5"x6.5" 'Country Road'
Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 'Woodlands by Tim Holtz'
Unbranded Frame Die
Handmade 'By My Hubby' Fly Fishing Lure
Fishing Net: Coffee Stained Gauge, Toothpick, Wired Flower Stem
Turquoise/White Cardstock Paper

Here's how I made it...
After cutting the patterned paper to fit the center of the card, I taped it in place. Then I glued the tree die cut onto the top left side of the card. Next I cut the image out with the frame die, then taped it onto the center left side of the card. I then glued the fishing net and fly onto the top right side of the image.
How I made the fishing net, with my hubby's help: Using a piece of flower stem I had cut off (with a small part of the wrapped paper on it), I made it into a circle and glued the ends together. Then I cut off a square piece of gauge. Bringing the ends of the gauge up through the stem circle then over the top and around, I glued it in place. After cutting off the ends of a toothpick, I glued one end just below the stem circle, where the wrapped paper is, as it is thicker there.
Note about the Fly...Hubby makes them look wonderful, hence using one of his on my card. Now mine on the other hand don't look so well 'kinda sickly, poor things'...he has made several jokes about my poor "bugs" as I call them, lol. But I tend to do my own thing and not follow any set pattern and guess what...the fish seem to like them, LOL.

I hope you like my DT card and it will give you some inspiration. :)
Come on and join us in the fun!
Happy Crafty Hugs,
Sherry x
