Hello There My Crafty Friends,

The theme for this challenge is...
Anything Goes with a Twist - Bleaching
When I first saw the theme for our challenge, I was thinking
When I first saw the theme for our challenge, I was thinking
'What the heck is bleaching?" LOL.
So I looked and found a few different ways people use bleach on cards.
Here's one way that I really like, though did my own thing on some of it.
...For This Project - Step By Step...
I got the idea for using bleach watching this video:
Cut a piece of watercolor paper the size I wanted to use.
Put a drop of distress ink inside the of top of the distress ink pad.
Used a watercolor brush with a small amount of ink to brush on the paper.
I found out that it's best to wet the paper first, so did that.
Then continued adding a small amount of the distress ink until done.
I liked the wood look it was getting so fully covered the paper.
After letting that dry really well, I stamped the flower on with black ink.
After letting the stamped ink dry.
Using a smaller watercolor brush I painted distress ink on the flower for shading.
After letting that dry really well.
Using bleach in a watercolor brush I painted where I wanted lighter areas.
Using a larger watercolor brush I put a few streaks of water below the flower.
Then with the same brush, I flicked water all over the paper.
After letting that dry really well.
Cut a piece of dark brown paper to frame behind the image and taped it on.
Then had my hubby cut a thick piece of chipboard to frame behind the paper.
Used the distressing tool around the edges of the chipboard.
Next used a lighter color brown distress ink around the edges.
Then taped the image onto the chipboard and will probably frame it. :)
