I colored the image with colored pencils and used a white gel pen.

Used distress ink around the image, papers and card.

Glued a piece of ribbon across the card with a pearl heart charm on the end.

After taping all the paper in place, I glued the button on.

THE CREATIVE CRAFTERS CHALLENGE #13

Hello There Crafty Friends,

This is my second post today as I want to share something extra for our challenge at...

 The Creative Crafters
 Our theme is always 'Anything Goes'

My 11 yr old granddaughter and I each made a mini album using toilet paper rolls.

Yes you read that right, as that's what I thought at first too, lol. But they are so much fun to make. She and I love to craft together, so this is one more thing on our list of things to do.

We looked at YouTube videos and other sites to get an idea of how they are made. Then came up with our own templates for how to cut the paper and for making the large tags.

 ...Here's How I Made Mine...

Flatten the toilet paper rolls. 

Then cut paper to fit around the rolls, overlapping a little, even on the ends.

The ends only need a little paper overlap, that part you tuck in and glue down...

It's easier if you cut a short slit on each side of the paper ends that will be tucked in the roll.

The page part needs a little more of a paper overlap, just so that it covers the whole thing.

To cover up the overlap on my pages, I added smaller pieces of papers to make pockets.

You can see the paper overlap on the back but I think it looks fine.

The tags were made by measuring the width and length of the toilet paper rolls...

then cutting a piece of white cardstock the size that will fit inside them.

That was used as a template for all the large tags. 

After cutting the large tags, I cut pieces of the same patterned paper to fit each side.

Note: The next time I will probably make the tags with patterned paper...

although my granddaughter lefts hers white and added distress ink on some and left some for drawing, notes, etc. So that's a good idea too. :)

 I rounded the ends on the bottoms of my tags...but that's not necessary.

Then used the distressing tool around the tags and anything else that I thought needed it, lol.

Next I did the same with the distress ink...on the tags and most everything.

Had my dear hubby punch holes in the tags, then added the hole reinforcement stickers.

I used ribbon lace to bind my book together and on each tag.

The ribbon lace on the tags are tied with twine

Shew, I haven't done this much typing in a long time. I can tell ya that my hands don't like it one bit. But I wanted to let you know how I made my mini album, so it was worth it. :)

Hello There Crafty Friends,

This is my 2cd post for today to let you know about a challenge at...

 Colour Crazy Challenge 

 The theme is always 'Anything Goes'

The wonderful sponsor is 'Polkadoodles'

...I had fun making this card with the adorable 'Ruby Sweet'...

  ...For my card... 

I colored the image with colored pencils. 

I had already used a border punch on a piece of purple cardstock...

so used that for my card by folding it in half and matching up the cuts.

Cut a piece of patterned paper and taped it to the left side of the card base.

Cut a piece of the same purple cardstock to frame behind the image...

and taped them together and onto the card.

Next I glued two flowers together and onto the card.

Then glued a flatback pearl in the center of the flower and onto the card..

 Note: Before adding it all together...

I used distress oxide on the flower, around the image and papers
